Environmental Science, and Technology

Welcome to the FOREST

Made possible by a grant by the Metanexus Institute, Forest orchestrates events drawing together the Gainesville community with scholars and students from the University of Florida and beyond to explore the often difficult scientific and moral questions that arise at the intersection of science, religion, and nature.
Forest is one of scores of Local Societies Initiative Groups, formed through the Local Societies Initiative for the constructive engagement of Religion and Science, sponsored by the Metanexus Institute. It has received additional financial support from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the University of Florida and UF’s Department of Religion, whose faculty and students involved with its Graduate Program in Religion and Nature lead the initiative. Those involved with Forest wish to express appreciation to all of its supporters.
